Pencognito
I
think;
therefore I would like a fish.
Two
penguin gang members named Jen and Woof have perpetrated this
one - it all ties into a web comic, among other things
- and they've taken an avian bully pulpit at their online
store where visitors can find comics, posters, art take-offs
and sundry penguin paraphernalia of all sorts.
There's some pretty clever image manipulation
and some very funny ideas here. One welcome extra is a $10
t-shirt section where budget-concious birds can stock
up on something to wear while the tuxedo's at the cleaners.

Motivational Penguin Posters

You
know, the sort of right-thinking, misfiring photographic messages
that well-meaning managers hang up in the office. But with
a difference.
These
are much more likely to hit the mark.
For example, "Gossip",
"Followership"
(at left), or "Egotism".
Each of the "Penguinspirations"
Penguin themed motivational poster images are available on
11 x 17" posters, t-shirts, coffee mugs, framed prints,
greeting cards, and a... gaggle? school? flock? ... of other
merchandise.

Penguin Art

Just
as "The Wrong Trousers" showed us how Alftred Hitchcock
might have seen the penguin, Pencognito
offers us a view of the aesthetic penguin, rendered with an
imagined brush by famous artists like Claude Monet, Rene Magritte,
and Leonardo.
You can see the Magritte
version at the top of this page - but just to the right, "Herring
Break" as it might have been painted by Maxfield
Parrish.

Penguin T-shirts & Clothing

Since
the main sections on the site are arranged by theme, you'll
find penguin tshirts scattered throughout the shop. But as
mentioned above there's a "Cheap
T shirt" section with $10 penguin t-shirts that feature
designs from all the other sections of the store.
But back up to those other sections;
for a few herrings more, you can have your choice of infant
creepers, hoodies, camisoles & baby doll shirts, and a
whole bunch of other types of penguin tshirts. Treat yourself!

Penguin Photographs & Miscellanea

Funny
stuff aside - and there's much more, of course, what with
the bumper
stickers, posters,
coffee
mugs, and other swag - these folks do like their penguins,
or, I suppose, anybody's penguins. Or free range penguins.
And in addition to all their slightly twisted versions of
the penguin universe they've joined with a research project
in South Africa and came back with a lot of real, unretouched
photographs of the little birds in the wild.
These
photos are also available on t shirts, framed prints,
and journals & cards; and they've got a few very nice
ones in which - somehow - no egotistical little fancy-dress
fellows managed to get into the frame. Well worth a look!

What's not to like?

What,
are you kidding? These are penguins, fer chrissakes!
