All
right: you've been to my main Affiliate
Sales page, you've signed
up for an Affiliate Account, and you're ready to roll.
This page gives you a selection of banners and text links you
can use to send visitors to this shop, and earn 20% of the money
they spend here.
Remember
to test your links! And be aware that until you replace the "xxxx"
placeholders in these links with your real affiliate PID, these
links won't work.
The
links on this page send your visitors to the version of Celtic
Art Books that's found at Cafepress.com. It's possible
to use affiliate links to my custom version of the store - where
you are now - but the Cafepress version doesn't have any "leaky"
links that could draw your visitors away; you're better off using
that one.

Banners |
| 125
x 125 Pixel Banner |
120
x 240 Pixel Banner |

This
is a nice, small banner that should be a good fit for the sidebar
on your web site.
To
use it, copy the HTML from the box below and paste it into the
code for your page, remembering to replace the "xxxx"
with your actual PID number.
|
This banner offers a little more to the viewer and if you don't
mind using the extra space, it's likely to draw much more attention
(and traffic).
To
use it, copy the HTML from the box below and paste it into the
code for your page, remembering to replace the "xxxx"
with your actual PID number. |
|
|
| 468
x 60 Pixel Banner |

This
is probably the most familiar banner size on the web, though
word on the street tells us that it's not as effective as many
of the others. Still, so many web sites are actually designed
to accommodate banners of this size that you may want to use
it. To do that, copy the HTML from the box below and paste it
into the code for your page, remembering to replace the "xxxx"
with your actual PID number.
|
| 120
x 578 Pixel Banner |
As far as giving us a chance to really do something attractive
that says something about the merchandise in the shop, this
is probably the best banner size of all. There's plenty of room
for some brief ad copy and readable views of several products,
to boot.
This
is the same size used as a "Skyscraper" ad by Google's
AdSenseTM image ads. The nominal size is 120 x 600, but it's
a little shorter to leave room for the "Ads by Google"
text that appears below the banner.
With
these ads it's possible to have the banner show up only on those
participating web sites that you select - meaning that this
would work well on Celtic-themed blogs or forum sites, and any
other place where lovers of Celtic design are likely to be passing
through.
To
use it, copy the HTML from the box below and paste it into the
code for your page, remembering to replace the "xxxx"
with your actual PID number.

Text Ads |
Now text ads are a different sort of thing. They almost have to
be custom crafted for the places you're going to put them, as
you'll know if you've been placing them via AdSenseTM
or another pay-per-click advertising service. Here are a couple
of general purpose ones to get you started; but a hint: probably
your best bet is to mention a sale, if there's one running at
the moment, and you'll see what that sale is in the banner at
the foot of this page. |

Purpose, links page text ads: |

Ads & Links |
| More
from Celtic Art Books |
The
banners and text ads above work just fine, and they all send
your visitors right to the front page of this shop. But what
if you want to send them to a particular section, or right to
a single product?
If
you take a look at the links in the ads above you'll see that
each of them is a link to the front page, with "?pid=xxxx"
at the end. You can make your own links very easily, and send
traffic anyplace in the shop that you'd like to.
Just
browse through the shop till you find the page you want to link
to, and look up in the address bar of your browser. You'll see
an URL, or web address, like:
http://www.cafepress.com/celtic_art_book/2603538
...that's
the address of the "Celtic Design Blank Books (unlined)"
page, where all the unlined Celtic blank books are located.
If you just highlight that address in your browser's address
bar and copy the text (usually "Copy" in the Edit
menu), you can paste the text of that address into your HTML
editor or text editor. Then add ?pid=xxxx to the end, remembering
to replace "xxxx" with your actual PID number. You're
done!
The
same thing works with any section or any single item page in
the shop.

from Cafepress |
Topic AdsTM
are a type of ad that Cafepress makes available to you for free.
These are splashy, visual ads that fit into the sidebars of
many web sites, or otherwise fit well in blog entries, or anywhere
else on a web page.
You
can learn more about these ads here.
You
don't really select an individual product to be displayed in
the ads; you specify a tag, or keyword, and the ad displays
products that have been tagged with that keyword.
To
make it easier for you to display Celtic Art Books
products in a Topic AdTM, I've tagged
all these items with an identifying keyword: celticbooks.
|
| ...and
from BuyTees |
BuyTees offers context sensitive ads that work a lot like AdSenseTM
ads, but which show only products sold through Cafepress.
To use these ads to feature Celtic Art Books products on your
own web page, use the keyword celticbooks.
You
can read about them here.
This
is a commission-sharing product. In a bank of ads, one ad will
carry the BuyTees affiliate PID, while the rest will carry your
own.
In
fact BuyTees has an amazing array of products in development
- see more on their
site.
|
| ...
and, finally, CPShop |
There are also a small number of third party products that allow
you to host a Cafepress shop right inside your own web site,
wrapped around with your own site's template. Until recently
it was just the shopkeepers themselves who used these tools
- to create custom versions of their own stores on their own
separate web sites. But with the advent of the Affiliate Sales
Program, that's changed.
What
this means to you is that if you have your own web site that's
visited by people who enjoy Celtic art, history, or mythology,
you can actually fold a complete version of Celtic Art
Books into your own web site. You don't own the store,
of course - but what you get is a premade, high quality shop
full of merchandise that visitors perceive as part of your own
site; and every time they buy, since you're an Affiliate, you
receive 20% of the dollars they spend.
This
adds a lot of perceived value to your web site even while it
earns you money. And CPShop itself costs only $19.77.
You
can learn more at the CPShop
web site.
