Sudden inspirations like this one abound in Retropolis' Experimental Research District, whose name is often spelled with a capital "Mental".
Though, naturally, this one's fairly harmless. It hasn't got a patch on the one that starts "When my Giant Robot has pulverized the Grants Committee, My Victory Will Be Complete!"
And anyway, branding yourself (or your clothes) with a colorful emblem that says something about you isn't all that unusual. In fact, the idea has my complete support, especially if it occurs to you while you're on this page.
And there are important public safety aspects too, aren't there? A well-placed button or badge can identify you as an authority on a subject that could be of immediate importance to those around you.
An example is the "Speed of Light" button. How many times have you realized (too late!) that an experimental faster than light drive was due to malfunction just as dessert was about to be served?
Just the sort of catastrophe that you, yourself, were uniquely able to prevent?
If you'd been wearing the button, this embarrassing social disaster might have been averted!
