The front and the back of your business card can each use up to six text areas. The text areas are controlled by panels like the one you see below.

The panels will highlight when you move your mouse over them - just like this image does. That's because it's pretty easy to change the wrong panel, so you get this bit of visual feedback to remind you where you are.

Each panel can be turned off. When you turn a panel off it won't forget its settings: that text will disappear from the card preview, but it will come back as soon as you turn the panel back on. This is handy when you're browsing images or switching between horizontal and vertical card shapes.

When turned off, a panel will collapse to its title bar. But the first part of the text will still be visible in the title bar so you can tell which panel is which.

Here ("Your Name Here", in the picture) is where you enter and edit the text itself.

Like the other text boxes in the panel, this automatically updates the preview once you click outside the box. An active text box changes color to orange; it goes back to white once you've clicked away.

The first row of text controls determine the typeface and its size. First there's a drop-down list. By default, this shows all the available typefaces. Then there's a second list, which lets you filter the typefaces shown in the first list ("All", "Serif", "Sans Serif", and "Hand Lettered"). Finally there's a text box where you can enter the size for this text.

Below those controls you can change the position, color, and text alignment for this panel's text.

Horizontal and Vertical positions can be changed by clicking on the arrow buttons, or by entering a new value in the text boxes. The whole text area will move when you change its position. Each set of arrows lets you move the text area by one, twenty-five, or fifty pixels on the preview.

The text color is set with the color-coded box to the right of the position controls. You'll usually use the drop-down color palette, but the color is also shown in the box itself as a hexadecimal code. You can copy and paste that code from one box to another. That's very useful when you need to use the same color throughout the card design.

Text alignment within the text area will be displayed both in the card preview and in the panel's text box. That's helpful because one way to control the position of individual lines of text is to add blank spaces (on the right, in a right-aligned text area, or on the left, in one that's left-aligned; or on either side, when a text area is aligned to the center).
