Note:
These tiles are intended for use as coasters; they have four small felt "feet" on their undersides. It's possible to remove those pads and then use the coasters as 4 1/4" ceramic tiles.

But because they're not UV protected, you should not use them as tiles outdoors, or in direct sunlight. They've made some really nice backsplashes and ornaments, though!
