Here’s the final version of one of my illustrations for "Trapped in the Tower of the Brain Thieves": the first of my illustrated, interactive stories at Thrilling Tales of the Downright Unusual.
Deep below the Brain Thieves’ tower our heroes skulk in the shadows, trying to avoid Doctor Rognvald’s henchman, Zeno. You know he’s Zeno, because he’s wearing a name tag. All around are the pounding pistons and whirling dials of Zeno’s well-tended machines. It’s hard to tell what they all do, exactly, except that they definitely keep him busy.
This version of the illustration is based on the one at the web site, and in the book, but has been re-rendered and overpainted in a much higher resolution even than the book’s version: 300 pixels to the inch, at 18 by 24 inches.
